We manage our environmental impact throughout our operation and value chain:

  • We measure our carbon footprint across scopes 1, 2, and 3 and, for the past six years, have been offsetting 100% of scope 1 and 2 emissions, alongside actions to reduce them.
  • We incorporate ecodesign and recyclability criteria into our packaging.
  • 90% of our direct fleet is hybrid or electric, and we are moving forward with our value chain toward lower-emission transport alternatives.
  • We integrate environmental criteria into supplier management to identify opportunities for improvement.

World Project (Bioksaland)

World Project (Bioksaland)

Bioksanland is a natural space dedicated to eco-sustainable development, empowering the Kikaya community in the city of Entebbe. This project covers more than 10,000 square meters of nature, including over 700 fruit trees and medicinal plants that provide food for the community. In addition, it features a fish farm aimed at the recovery of endangered species and produced more than 500 liters of hydroalcoholic gel in 2021 from water hyacinth, an invasive plant from Lake Victoria. Bioksanland also develops emerging projects in biogas production and organic composting as sources of renewable energy. A research and development center under construction hosts international volunteers and young researchers, fostering science and professional training for low-income individuals. This project positively impacts a community of more than 15,000 people.
Wara Wara Schools

Wara Wara Schools

The Musaia Senior Secondary School project consists of the construction of a new school building that will include 3 classrooms, a storage room, an office, and their furniture. This new building will allow for the accommodation of students who complete the third year of Musaia Junior Secondary School, benefiting the 250 current students. In addition, the project will have a positive impact on all children and young people in the village, as well as those in neighboring villages and throughout the province. The teachers of Musaia and the residents of Dembelia and the Falaba District will also benefit, improving education and opportunities in the region.

Island Mission Uganda (Babys Uganda)

Since January 2019, Bioksan has sponsored the Mount Eagle School on Zinga Island, Uganda, transforming the lives of nearly 200 vulnerable children affected by extreme poverty, 70 of whom have lost their parents (in most cases due to HIV) and therefore live at the school. Bioksan provides the annual salaries for the teaching staff and has also installed solar panels, making the school the only place with electricity on the island. By providing a safe and educational environment, Bioksan is building a hopeful future for these children and the community.

The Dones Azulado Children's Center, inaugurated in 2021, represents an important milestone on the island of Tierra Bomba in the city of Cartagena de Indias; it is the island's only comprehensive early childhood education center. The project's objective is to provide education and develop the potential of early childhood children through an educational model based on the Reggio Emilia approach, recognized as one of the best models in the world. Currently, the project serves 150 children, and thanks to the contribution from Bioksan, the salaries of teachers who care for 70 of these children are financed. The project includes training for families in respectful parenting.
SOM FOUNDATION

SOM FOUNDATION

An international cooperation project in the Republic of The Gambia carried out at the Sanyang health center, with the goal of providing medical and surgical care to the local community. During the visit, cleaning and refurbishment activities are carried out in the facilities provided by the Sanyang health center. Pediatric consultations are also conducted, addressing acute childhood pathologies, answering questions about childcare, and evaluating children with chronic illnesses, psychomotor developmental delays, or failure to thrive, along with a dressing room to treat acute processes or advanced injuries. This project provides crucial medical assistance and establishes a model of continuous care for future expeditions, with the aim of improving the health and well-being of the Sanyang community in The Gambia.
Surg For All Expedition

Surg For All Expedition

Since 2020, we have been working actively with St. Joseph Catholic Hospital in Monrovia and the Juan Ciudad Foundation to alleviate this situation. The provision of equipment to perform surgeries with advanced techniques, the training of nurses in surgical instrumentation and ward protocols, and the training of a general practitioner in urological referral have accompanied the successive missions that have been carried out periodically. In addition to the physical project, we have asked the hospital management to commit to having a permanently staffed urologist. Two possibilities have been offered: assuming the cost of a general practitioner's specialization at a university and, not exclusively, co-financing the cost of hiring a foreign urologist. The goal is to provide a population of nearly six million people with a point of reference for urological pathologies, improve the health of many patients, and reduce mortality resulting from a lack of medical care.

Makete Lagunak is a development cooperation association based in Bilbao that collaborates on various projects in the Njombe region (Tanzania). They actively collaborate by providing scholarships to children in the region, supporting them throughout their entire journey from preschool to university. At the same time, we are an active part of various projects to guarantee basic needs for the community. The objective is the renovation of the preschool kitchen, which feeds 100 children every day. Seventeen years after its construction, it requires improvements to the paint, flooring, windows, equipment, and utensils.

In 2025, with more resources, there are plans to expand the coverage area (the border with Gambia, the Kedougou/Pays Bassari area), regions with more difficult access and less organized healthcare. This 3rd cooperative project also incorporates educational projects on diabetes for local healthcare personnel (Diouloulou and Kedougou hospitals). In addition to the Diabetes Project, the Schools Project is being carried out concurrently, which aims to educate/raise awareness about female puberty.
