Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenic acid (DHA), both belonging to omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, are essential fatty acids. They are called "essential" because the organism cannot produce them by itself, so they must be ingested in sufficient quantity. They are obtained from blue fish, which provides greater availability that is obtained in some green leafy vegetables, flaxseed seed oil and certain vegetable oils.

The EPA and DHA contribute to the normal functioning of the heart and the brain. The daily consumption of at least 1 gr of EPA and DHA helps maintain the normal levels of blood cholesterol (Spanish Heart Foundation), normal cardiac function, blood pressure and triglyceride concentration.

Cognitive improvements have also been observed in mild cognitive impairment, as well as inflammation by decreasing inflammatory mediators. In doses equal to 1 gr significantly reduce the factors and risk of cardiovascular diseases, presenting a positive effect on obesity and diabetes mellitus type 2.

It is important to know, and this is recommended by the main European and American guides, which to achieve most of these beneficial health effects is necessary to consume at least 1 GR Diario de Omega 3 (EPA and DHA).

The Coenzyme Q10 plays a fundamental role in both cellular respiration, and in the proper functioning of the heart and production of ATP (energy).
