Jules Verne said that the creative power of nature far surpasses the destructive instinct of man. At Bioksan we have a strategic environmental framework that focuses on eco-efficient management of our operations and our supply chain, in accordance with the European Green Deal roadmap, to achieve climate neutrality of Europe in 2050.
Sustainable and compostable packaging, energy efficiency, the use of renewable energy, sustainable mobility, resilient infrastructure and nature-based solutions mark the actions of our operations, such as a responsible response to the challenges linked to the conservation of the planet.
Circular economy
Our packaging is 100% biodegradable and compostable. We are currently investing in research to develop compostable blisters for packaging our capsules.
Sustainable Investments
We have invested in a wind farm located in the Canary Islands municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, which will cover the equivalent of the annual electricity consumption of 19,200 families, will avoid the emission of 1.7 million tons of CO2, will save the costs of importing fossil fuels for the production of electrical energy, will generate quality employment and will have a great impact on health.
Carbon Neutral
It is very important that we know that the use of clean renewable energy sources represents an improvement in health and quality of life, since they manage to reduce lung and heart conditions caused by the pollution produced by the extraction, refining and combustion of coal, gas and oil.
At Bioksan we are aware that our health depends on the health of the planet, therefore, once again, we reiterate our commitment and action for a healthy and resilient future.
As words go with the wind, we turn words into actions by integrating energy efficiency and eco-efficiency practices into all of our operations. In this way, we fully offset our carbon footprint by following the protocols set by the United Nations Clean Development Mechanism, subscribed to the Kyoto Protocol, being certified as carbon neutral by Climate Neutral Now (Climate Neutrality Now), of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
This initiative aims to encourage and support everyone to take action on climate, to achieve a climate neutral world by mid-century.
